Rob Hudson and Tom Butler have successfully completed their level 2 British Cycling coaching courses and now face 70 to 80 hours of study and practical coaching sessions before their final assessment day in June.

The course was in Sheffield. Rob and Tom decided to cycle there in time for the 0845 start so rolled out at 0640 with a heavy ruck sacks.

Unfortunately at the end of the first day they were given a bag of heavy resources and some homework so had to cart it all home; result back ache!!

Tom had a date at Walton village hall that evening for his brother-in-law’s 50th and so didn’t arrive home till midnight with a 0600 start again the following morning.

On the final day they had to plan and delivered their coaching sessions which the assessors were happy with and so they became ‘trainee coaches’, allowed to conduct coaching sessions unsupervised.

Tom and Rob face a lot of work before being signed off in Sept, including delivering 6 coaching sessions each and other course work whhich equates to about 70 hours of work each!
